Questions about switching
Is hotel software better than a register?
For most properties, yes. A register can’t stop double bookings, can’t be seen from your phone and can’t add up payments for you. Hotel software like StayOye keeps bookings, cash and housekeeping in one place that every staff member sees at once.
Can I use Excel as a hotel booking system?
You can, but Excel doesn’t stop two people booking the same room, doesn’t work well on phones, and anyone can change or delete a cell. StayOye replaces the booking sheet and still lets you export reports to Excel.
Will I lose my old register data?
No — your register stays with you. Most owners enter only upcoming bookings and start fresh; past guests get added as they return.
How long does it take to switch to StayOye?
